Okay guys, it's story time. I was going to wait until I saw most of you this week to tell you but I'm bored in church... so here goes.
Monday I was getting ready for work. I lit a candle (because I like good smelling things) and started brushing my teeth. I took my vitamins, put my contacts in, then whoops dropped my contact case. As I went to pick it up I heard a crackling that sounded like water landing on a hot curling iron. I checked it but it wasn't even on, or near water. I then glance at the mirror and catch sight of my hair...on fire!!! I immediately put it out and then find bits of hair falling out. In shock I just thought "I knew I should not have gotten out of bed this morning." I ignore the fact that my hair smells and put it in a braid and continue getting ready for work. Yes, I went to work.
Anyway I took a personal day Tuesday to get my hair done...as my boss liked to joke I took a personal day because of a bad hair day...har har har. Anyway the stylist did a fantastic job of making the line of burnt hair look like stray hairs. And we dyed the hair darker to hide the burnt pieces even more. And since the burn was on the part I've changed my part as well. Maybe I've shared too much, but now you are all prepared to see a new me. Although it really doesn't look that much different.
Anyway on this thanksgiving week I'm so grateful for hair stylists and a job that allows me to take a personal day to have a 'me' day (even if they tease me).
